Meet Patricia Wonsey!

Patricia Wonsey is originally from Chicago but raised in Florida. She comes from a large family, full of entrepreneurs so it was only right for her to start her own business. In addition to working on her business, she works for the government as a Trainer. She teaches employees how to conduct inspections and investigations in the healthcare world.

When did you start?/ How long have you been going?

I came up with my concept back in March of 2015. In 2017, I finally had a working/acceptable prototype and by August 2018 our first patent was issued and we "opened our doors." We have been going for almost 2 years now.

What inspired you to create your business and how did you motivate yourself to keep going when things were difficult?

My inspiration came from me needing a product and it not being available. I loved headwraps and couldn't tie one to save my life. I also invested in a few pretied headwraps, but they weren't versatile and sometimes wouldn't even fit my head. So that's when the idea hit me that I should create something that would combine the best of both worlds. And that's what I did with the wonsiiwrap. I've read over and over again, that if you want to create a product you have to make sure that it fills a void and that it's something you're passionate about. If you're not passionate about your business, then you will give up. I stayed motivated by setting small goals, and of course by having my sister in my corner to push me when things got difficult. Where there's a will, there's a way. I truly believe that.

What Book Are You Currently Reading?

"Breaking the habit of being yourself" by Dr. Joe Dispenza

Who is your Biggest Inspiration?

My sister Constance. She kept pushing me when I wanted to give up. And now we have a business that is growing daily and a product that we are truly happy with.

Name a favorite business website?

Holdmyluggage.com It's my sister's website and app. It's my favorite because I have seen the journey she took to create a successful business. She never let anything stop her, even when things look impossible!

How do you define success?

Success is happiness.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

Don't give up! It took several years and many failed attempts just to come up with a working prototype of my product.

Where can we find you? (social media, websites, etc.)

Anything you want to add?

Although we have been in business for almost 2 years, things have not been smooth sailing. It has been a struggle, and now I'm finally starting to see the "light at the end of the tunnel". When you have a business make sure you are doing it because you have a passion to do it.
